Agile’s Test Stands Supporting Firefly’s Lunar Program

At Agile Space Industries, testing is at the heart of what we do. Recently, our team has been putting Firefly Aerospace’s Spectre engines through their paces at our Durango test facility under a new testing services contract.

If the name sounds familiar, it should. Spectre engines were first proven in space during Firefly’s Blue Ghost Mission 1 – the first commercial mission to successfully land on the Moon in March 2025. The engines will be flying again on future Blue Ghost missions, including one headed to the far side of the Moon next year. These engines are also key to powering Firefly’s Elytra orbital vehicles.

For us, this partnership is about more than just hot fires. It’s about collaboration across the space industry, supporting programs that push exploration farther, and ensuring the hardware that goes to space is tested, reliable, and ready for the challenge.

Agile’s test stands are designed to move quickly, adapt to customer needs, and deliver reliable performance data. By bringing Firefly’s flight hardware to Durango, we’re able to help validate these engines right here in the Rockies for some of the most ambitious missions yet.

The Moon is calling, and we’re proud to play a role in getting there.
