Agile Space announces their new propulsion systems Moab, Yosemite, and Ticonderoga

Agile Space meeting the needs of the market, announcing new propulsion systems.

At Agile Space, we're tackling challenging problems for our customers.

We're known for taking advantage of modern manufacturing and exquisite test infrastructure to advance the boundaries of thruster technology. However, many of our customers need more than thrusters and engines; they need ready to fly propulsion systems. While thrusters are the focal point, Agile has been working to bring our industry-best lead time and performance to integrated propulsion systems.

We are obviously passionate about propulsion at Agile, but for us, it's not just about the technology. We put “Agile” in the name because we move quickly to solve supply chain needs and enable our customers' missions. This commitment is why we refer to ourselves as a "Propulsion Solutions Provider." Whether you need propulsion components, systems, new capability development, manufacturing and integration services, hot-fire testing, or propellant handling logistics, we're here for you.

We currently offer three complete propulsion system variations and have others in development.

The Moab propulsion system offers the simplicity of a monopropellant system with full 6-DoF maneuverability for spacecraft between 50 and 400kg dry mass. The Yosemite Propulsion System is a high delta-V bipropellant system optimized for cislunar operations. Last, but definitely not least, Our Ticonderoga Propulsion System provides the ultimate orbital agility package supporting 6-DoF maneuvering, extremely high delta-V, high accelerations, and low residual IR signature operations.

We also have the capability to develop new bespoke propulsion systems on very competitive timelines.

Agile is committed to finding and providing the system that is needed to optimize your specific mission with your specific requirements. We work with our customers from the early stages of their mission design phase to meet their mission requirements whether that is for commercial, civil, or defense uses.

Our custom propulsion system services begin with our extensive catalog of high-performance bipropellant and monopropellant rocket engines, each serving specific cost, complexity, and capability needs. Additionally, we partner with various companies providing electric propulsion devices for customers interested in hybrid chemical/electric propulsion systems. These components are complemented by one of our two tank technologies.

We have developed our additively manufactured tank technology in collaboration with NASA.

These titanium tanks can be as large as 36” in diameter and as thin as 0.007”, depending on operating conditions. These mass efficient tanks skip the traditionally long lead and high scrap rate spin forming process that is normally used for large tank hemispheres. For missions with either tight schedules or high acceleration dynamic maneuvering requirements, Agile also offers a family of positive displacement tanks. These tanks separate the propellant from the pressurant gas by a mechanical piston assembly, allowing for precise propellant level determination and absolutely zero slosh under even the most exciting dynamic maneuvers.

Even though Agile offers propulsion systems as a convenience to our customers, we still offer everything as individual components for customers who wish to retain ultimate design authority for their mission.

Selecting the right propulsion system for your mission can be critical to realizing the best outcome of a mission – whether that be by arriving on station months sooner or by delivering hundreds of kilograms more to the surface of the moon. In the case of national security missions, the right propulsion system could mean the difference between being intercepted by a hostile spacecraft or evading it to maintain mission readiness. The propulsion system so often makes the difference.
